The Ampitheatre was full to brim with enthusiastic P2F fans, who watched as Ryatul managed to succeed in having her name in lights once the results had been announced, as she walked away with not only the honour of being crowned the new P2F Champion, but of being the first female to do so. She was also eliminated in the semi-finals of the competition but was voted back. Her prize came in the form of a brand new Toyota Avanza, $3,000 in cash, a 42" Phillips LED TV, Fitness Zone membership for two, a Samsung mobile phone and a $100 Ideal voucher. In an interview with the Bulletin, Ryatul said, "I am so happy! I was so surprised when they called my name, because there was such strong competition." Asked what her plans are for the future, she said, "I want to be active in singing. InsyAllah I'll be able to record an album and singles, and continue with music." She also said that she felt "proud" to be the first-ever female champion of P2F, and that the biggest lesson she had learned from being in P2F was, "Discipline. Being disciplined in training, singing, attitude, image, etc". In second place came Rinaz, who walked away with $2,000 in cash, a Micro System, a Samsung mobile phone, membership for two at Fitness Zone and a $100 voucher at Ideal. Third place was given to Mienul, who won $1,000 in cash, a DVD Player, a Samsung mobile phone, Fitness Zone membership for two and a $100 Ideal voucher. The remaining contestants to receive consolation prizes were Fiq, Neff, Azim and Shah. In an interview with P2F judge Hans Anwar, he said, "It was Ryatul who I had expected to win, though the full results were not as I expected, based on the judging, but obviously the SMS votes have played a big role." "However, the Top Seven was pretty much what we expected, based on progress and popularity," he said. Speaking about Ryatul, he said, "Somebody should grab her to do a single or an EP. I'm sure there will be lots of producers looking to work with her." Present as the guest of honour at the event to present the prizes to the contestants was Pg Abd Haris bin Pg Shabudin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office. With him was the Acting Director of RTB, Hj Idris bin Hj Md Ali. After the show, tokens of appreciation were presented in a brief ceremony to sponsors and officials at the event. | |||||||||||
